    Hello and good morning/afternoon

My current AV is NOD32 Anti Virus 4.2.71 running on Windows XP Pro SP3.

I have an issue regarding the Updates. As we all now that Deep Freeze keeps everything frozen since Day 1. I found out that you can use a Mapping tool to
redirect folders to unfrozen/thawed drives which is the job of Data igloo.

The great thing that I found out about Data Igloo is it can fool a program in to thinking that it is changing files in the frozen but in reality it gets re-mapped to the thawed drive.

The problem is I don't know which folder and registry keys to redirect to the thawed drive. Whenever Nod32 have a Definition update which folder & registry changes?

As of now what I did is install Nod32 to the thawed Drive, All I need are the information on folders and registry from the frozen drive.

Please give me what folder paths and registry paths to redirect. So Nod32 can Update with ease even with DF is in Freeze mode.

    Thanks in advance,

    JRX

    Hello,

For Microsoft Windows XP, I think you would want to exclude the following directories:
    %ProgramFiles%\ESET
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\ESET
    C:\Documents and Settings\%USER%\Application Data\ESET

    For the registry keys:
    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\ESET]
    [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\ESET]

There may be some addition directories and registry locations used by the software, but I do not think those would be changed through a signature update.

    Regards,

    Aryeh Goretsky
