    Hello,

today I discovered a special service running along with my LAN/WLAN connection in Windows 7 64bit. The name of the service is "EPFW NDIS LightWeight Filter". I suppose this is a part of the suite's firewall and a kind of web filter? After installation, Smart Security askes me if these connections are part of a trusted network.

In contrast, there is no such service running on my UMTS/HSDPA network adapter and Smart Security dosn't ask me if this connection in a trusted one.

Could it be that the software doesn't recognize the cellular network adapter or even fail to protect it?

    Thanx for your answers.

    Hello,

My guess would be that the UMTS/HSDPA network adapter uses a different means of binding to the system than NDIS, or perhaps a version of NDIS that is unrecognized by ESET Smart Security. Anything that you download, though, would still be scanned when it was written to disk.

Hmmm...is there any possibility to find out if this is the real reason? :doubt:

    Hello,

I would suggest contacting your local ESET office and opening up a ticket with them to investigate the issue.
