Lmfao...and the forward buttons on the article don't work in Chrome. There's a milestone to reach for ya! Get to it, Google. While you're there, fix Gawker Media-owned websites too, they don't work properly.

Edit: Beautiful, the entirety of PCWorld doesn't work in Chrome unless they are links that go off-site. Damn Google, you deserve a meme.

That site seems to be working fine here with Google Chrome 26.0.1410.64. Check your addons perhaps?

Addon-less and still no go. Chrome just does this crap all the time. Firefox with the same addons I have in Chrome works without a hint of flaw. I disable them in Chrome and still can't get the POS to properly load a growing percentage of websites properly. I'm convinced that something isn't right with its rendering or scripting engine. It's always had a problem here and there with stuff like this, but never as bad as it has gotten.

Anyway, that's neither here nor there as far as the thread is concerned. Just venting a wee bit. On topic, there are no real "milestones" in the article as the title had claimed it would discuss. It's really just a trip through the "Natural History of Browsers Museum", and can honestly be boiled down to "We have less buttons now". Website development and internet tech in general have made far more advances than browsers. Times honestly haven't changed for the better, it's just gotten a lot more complicated really.

Out of the 10, only 2 is what I consider the most important to me.
Firefox and Chrome. The others were way before my time. I'm sure though that those who are more senior to me will have some good memories out of those.

P.S. Working fine on Google Chrome here too. Special message for Mman79.

Thanks Ron, and I agree, though I have some fond memories of the old days...how cool some of us thought Netscape Navigator was..:D

Navigator was a pretty freakin cool browser. Then Insecure Explorer happened and sucked for 8 versions, Netscape got lazy, then AOHell bought them and pulled a Symantec, letting the whole thing just sit in a dusty corner and die.

Adblock Plus breaks compatibility on Chrome, as expected in large commercial websites.

Anyways, the article was nothing special, almost not worth the trouble of incognito mode.

I know ABP and Chrome hate each other, that's why I disabled it and all other installed extensions to test. That site and some others had the same behavior. It's neither here nor there now though, lol. And yeah, very misleading article.

You scored yourself a point there, technically, but I don't consider it the same thing :D

5 Things that Opera did first:

    1) Browser tabs:
    2) Speed Dial:
    3) Pop-up Blocker:
    4) Browser Sessions:
    5) Delete private Data:

And these are still widely used in every browser..

Introducing browser tabs might be considered as the biggest milestone, according to me...Thumbs up to Opera

Opera set some trends but being first does not means better. Now im not saying it sucks or comparing it to another browser. :D

I thought it was a myth that Opera had the first browser tabs. I could be wrong however.
