Hello - certain (kinda crap) programs keep starting themselves in my System Config utility>Startup. Junk like Quicktime & Real Player updates etc etc... Even though I keep unchecking them they keep re-appearing with the startup check next to them! Any ideas how to get them under control? Thanks a bunch, Deca

www.winpatrol.com You can "disable" them w/ WinPatrol. They STAY on your startup list but are prevented from starting. That way they can't keep reappearing and then running.

Startup Cop helps you handle problems with programs that are
automatically launched at startup by listing them and letting you
disable, enable, or delete them. You can save the list of programs
that are currently enabled or disabled as a profile that can be
    restored at a later time.
