I want to thank all of the people who helped me get Zonealarm uninstalled from a previous post/thread.

I really like Zonealarm. Now I need to get a way figured out to get it started on powerup. I know that I will not remember to restart Zonealarm manually after each powerup. I have removed all of the files from previous installations of Zonealarm and reinstalled several times. This does not do it. Neither does putting a check in the check box in front of the "Load Zonealarm Pro at Startup" under the preferences tab do it.

Any suggestion will be appreciated. I just thought of another question. Is there a utility that allows a user to add or subtract a line in the System Configuration startup section? This specifically refers to the startup that is available when one clicks Start - Run - msconfig.

    Thanks in advance Bluebird

Startup entry is "zlcient". Make sure it's checked. If ZA isn't starting up, my guess is that you borked your registry. If you can restore from a previous restore point before you installed ZA then reinstall ZA, might be your best bet. Otherwise, if it was me, I'd just reinstall the OS.

Thanks! I appreciate the help. I didn't think the situation was that bad. That's because I really do not know that much about these things.

Zonealarm was one of the very first programs that I loaded after I received my machine. It would be almost the same as starting from scratch. I really do not want to reload the system. Although, it does have some other benifits.

Is there a program that will allow me to hunt for and delete the problem in the registry?

Thanks in advance for your help.

When I do a Reinstall or a New Version I Unstall & then run CCleaner & RegSeeker,Restart Computer and run both again. I then Install New Program.
RegSeeker has a REG FIND Feature. I ran a Find for ZoneAlarm. It found 39 entrys. I may have a few extras. You will need some Good Info on what to Keep & and Delete. Also Check the Backup Box. Good Luck.
