    Righto.

BTW, is there anyone else here who thinks that Spyware Nuker and other such "rogue" programs are fraudulent?

When I first saw this thread's title, I thought it was "Spyware Puker". :D Sounds like that may be a more fitting name!

Yes, people would puke at the sight of it! :D

  9. Spyware Nuker is legit and it was removed from rogue list.
You can stick with 'official' Adaware or Spybot s&d or you can puke, but if you want your PC to be in a good shape you should try Spyware Nuker.

I installed spyware nuker 3 days ago- WOW I thought!!! It found 213 items in the registry-2 were hotbar and the rest were wtvis ( i think that it is related to wild tangent)- Well, I couldve manually deleted them but decided to leave be til I got more opinions. I did my normal adaware scan yesterday and guess what it found in the registry and other places.Spyware Nuker. I did a little reading just now and learned this:
    http://sarc.com/avcenter/venc/data/adware.spywarenuker.html
Well its gone from my system. hope this helped

    Snowbound:

Let me clarify: SpywareNuker is NOT on the rogue list. The note clearly states:

There is an entry in the list to point to the note. That entry still exists to point to the note, because if I didn't list it someplace then I'd get email asking me about it. But SpywareNuker is not listed on that page as a rogue/suspect application.

    Best,

    Eric L. Howes

Yes, thanks Eric. I should have clarified it as an entry and not one being on the rogue list. Just wanted to point towards the note attached.

    Sorry for the confusion.

..roger..i'll remove the puker assap...but the stuff it scans is from HPHosts file and http://www.spywareguide.com/blockfile.php

are you sure they wont put couple bad guys in the group?

**edit**: i guess its safe to have it installed then since its not on the list anymore? thanks for the help!

I actually tested Xoftspy myself once and it "found" many things that I was able to confirm were not on my PC. It "found" the exact same entries on another of my PCs. This is what I call scare tactics. I wouldn't touch the nuker with a ten foot pole either - but the decision is yours. If it used to be rogue (which it was) then why bother with it now when there are other much more reputable choices?
