Some doubts about portable apps

I'll keep them short.

1. Why don't vendors themselves offer portable versions in most cases?

2. Do vendors work closely with portableapps.com for development of the apps?

3. Do the vendors check the portable versions before portableapps release them?

4. And finally are portable versions released by parties other than the vendors safe?

Sorry I was referring to developers, if vendors is not the correct word. Did you remove the chat transcript? I read that and started replying to that and now its gone!! Anyway thanks for taking the trouble and chatting with the live support of PortableApps.com

 

I've been using Portable Apps for some time & most of them work well & seem safe to me. I always scan any download with at least two scanners though, just to make sure.

4. That is up to you, if they were legal, they would posted on portableapps, or so and whetever they are clean, that depends, but mostly they are.
