shostsec.sys false positive?

    McAfee is detecting this as a trojan.

    Hi Kegel,

    Definately a false positive. Another week, another false positive from an AV company. ;)

    This is going to continue to be a growing problem. Kaspersky's extended database for instance detects mirc.exe as a potential threat. They rate it that way as they feel mirc has some potentially risky uses. Their position is it isn't a false positive, and they aren't going to remove it. It's up to the user to exclude it.
