    I am using TI 9.0 at the latest revision. I have a scheduled backup for early morning each day, and the backup takes place the first day as scheduled. However, the following morning, no backup happens. When I edit the backup job, all of the backup info is as before, except that on the "User Information" dialog, the User Name is still correct, but the two password fields are incorrect (the password fields are all "dots", but there are 8 characters whereas I originally entered 6 characters). If I reenter the correct password, the backup happens as scheduled, but the following day it does not, and I have to reenter the correct password again. Any hints what might be going wrong?

    Hello JVID,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

    Please be aware that Acronis True Image 9.0 scheduler always shows 8 dots in the password field regardless of how much characters your password actually consists of. Moreover, same behaviour is typical for the majority of Windows-based applications.

    Could you please do the following?

    - Download and run schedmgr.exe application;

    - Issue the following commands:

    service stop
    service uninstall

    - Close schedmgr;

    - Replace schedhlp.exe and schedul2.exe files in the C:\Program Files\Common Files\Acronis\Schedule2 folder with the files from this ZIP archive.

    - Run schedmgr application once again;

    - Issue the following commands:

    service install
    service start

    - Close schedmgr;

    If the problem still persists then please do the following:

    - Open the command prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd);

    - Run the following command in the folder the schedmgr.exe file was saved to:

    schedmgr get report > schedreport.txt

    - Collect schedreport.txt;

    - Run Acronis Schedule Manager program (schedmgr.exe) once more;

    - Issue the following command:

    set logflags support

    - Schedule backup creation once again;

    - Wait until the scheduled back up will not execute;

    - Collect the log file schedul2.log that is placed in the \Program Files\Common
    Files\Acronis\Schedule2 folder;

    Please also create Acronis Report and Windows System Information as it is described in Acronis Help Post.

    Where do you store your images?

    Create an account, then log in and submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.

    Alexey,

    I have followed the first of the steps you suggested:

    service stop
    service uninstall
    replace two files from zip
    service install
    service start

    (I suppose you know that the two files in the zip are about three months older than the original files)

    The backup the following morning did not take place and there's no entry in the regular Acronis log.
    I then ran the schedmgr get report > schedreport.txt and have the file.
    I ran schedmgr again with "set logflags support" command.

    Next, I scheduled a backup for 10 minutes in the future and the backup ran correctly. The backup is now rescheduled for tomorrow AM and I'll see what happens, and complete the rest of the instructions if it fails.

    After the successful run, I edited the job to change the time to tomorrow and found that the password field was blank, and I re-entered the password.
    The backup file is being saved to a folder on an external firewire drive (plenty of space).

    I have noticed one other thing:

    I installed Acronis on another computer for a comparison. Scheduled backups run with no problem. On both computers, when a backup is taking place, a smallAcronis icon appears in the taskbar, and hovering the mouse pointer shows the percentage completed (as expected).

    However, on the second computer, between backups, the icon remains with the arrow spinning and no backup taking place. On the original computer, no icon is on the taskbar unless a BU is taking place. Does this mean anything?

    Thanks for your help so far.

    Alexey,

    After monitoring for a couple of weeks, the backups seem to be executing each day with no problems. The only new thing I did was to replace the old file with the ones in the zip (which are older). So I guess things are OK. What about the Acronis icon that appears in the taskbar, even when no backup is taking place? Rebooting takes it away.

    Thanks.
