    Hi Jav,

No its not right. Even i guess we have to configure USB and CD/DVD ROM separately. I read this on MSDN Technet Library. It was not blocked by default. We have to configure each and everything separately. That's why its painful thing, whereas in SRP we can configure everything in one go...

    Strange..
In my past experience I only created allow rules and all other executeables other then those on allow rule were blocked Automatically.
    Let me check again..
But I am sure that I didn't create ANY deny rules. :doubt:

    Hi Bro,

That's what i want to bring to your notice...In AppLocker we have to configure each and everything separately...and last but not least it is applicable to limited number of file extensions. So no protection from .pif or .inf file extensions. Whereas in SRP, Limited User cannot execute or run any of these file extensions...

    After some testing.
I am again fairly sure that you don't need to create AppLocker deny rules..
Configuration is the same or even easier then SRP.

When you say that you should configure everything separately.
Do you mean that AppLocker has 3 tabs (executables, Installers and Scripts) instead of 1 as in SRP.
Other then that the configuration of SRP and AppLocker are almost the same...

But I do agree with you about the fact that AppLocker supports less extensions. :doubt:

Let me check now...But yeah that's pretty much painful fact that AppLocker supports less extensions...:(

Edit:- Yeah its working fine with default policy, and now i found it more simpler then SRP...But for Simple configuration:)

Just a notification...in win 7 u can use sbie along with LUA + SRP...i have done so since early octomber.U just have to select in srp to apply rules for all files except for dll libraries...all other files are succesfully denied.and as in the previous page i posted in the current beta the issue is fixed and sbie runs along SRP in full settings and everything

    Hi Brother,

Thanks for telling your experience, but what i experienced that When i apply SRP and give an exception path to Sandboxie in Windows 7, then Sandboxie 3.42 will not work. And yeah i got to know that in Current Beta Version the issue is successfully rectified/fixed.
Whereas if you use the same policy in Windows XP Pro SP3, then you will find no issue at all with Sandboxie...

Glad that it worked for you.
As I said SRP and AppLocker both very similar in configuration. :)

    Hey Jav,

Thanks brother...I am really happy that you tried a lot to solve my problem and confusions, but now i am lil bit scared because of various holes left with AppLocker..

    Abinash,

You could use returnil Free. Just creat a second partition to which you put in the results of the keygens :(

    Hi Kees Bro,

First of all I am Avinash not Abhinash...Abhinash will change the entire meaning of my name...:D ..

Secondly i don't like Returnil...I always use VirtaulBox for my Keygens, I am lil bit paranoid with Keygens...That's why i use VirtualBox so that if any keygen is infected with malware it will not pass on to my Host System....

yes it will not work with rules for exeption to the path , but try it..if u select "all files except for libraries" under enforcement , sbie will work like fine, as i said i been rolling like this since octomber :)
