    Hello,

I have facing a weird issue. It took me lot of time to pinout returnil system safe pro was doing it.

im running windows 7 64bit with latest patches.

After installing returnil everything works fine just with one issue, after plugging my mass storage seagate goflex and later when I try to remove it using safe remove option it does not remove properly and system hangs.

I rebooted the machine, removed returnil and tried again plugging and then removing mass storage works like charm.

This specific issue with returnil installed is with only portable hard drives, if I use a pen drive and remove it safely while returnil is installed pen drive remove out just fine.

I think returnil is having some issues with mass storage drivres while removing portable hard drives.

Can someone help me out here.

Known old bug. My solution has been to use v. 13 and not v. 14. There is a workaround, you could search the forum or wait for Coldmoon´s answer.

    Hi,
As Robin notes, this is a known issue in REL14. The workaround is to connect and disconnect USB devices while the computer is off. This issue should be corrected with the release of 3.3x which is in testing at the moment.

Thanks to all for the answer, I'll be waiting for the newer version.

If I would have asked it before here I could have saved myself from re installing my windows and then removing every other software and performing the test with my hard drive and I least expected returnil and that was it. :(

An advisory can be sent to all Returnil users about the bug on their E-mail.

    Hi prerakg,
Apologies for not replying to this sooner, but at the time of your first post, the 3.3x beta release schedule was still not set so there wasn't a ready answer to the question.

If you want to participate in the current 3.3x beta, shoot us a request to the support (dash) tech (at) returnil (dot) com address with your name, proper communications e-mail address for the beta, and a brief summary of the versions of Windows you have available for testing and your testing experience and the team will send you the download instructions/change log.

It took time for me to find out that my Returnil R14 is the cause of HDD safely remove problem.

I was using Virtual Machine with portable USB HDD connected, and when I rebooted the machine, "Safely Remove Hardware" feature hung and Windows won't shut down. I just pressed the hardware button to turn my laptop off, in regard only to this portable HDD.
