    Hello,
After figuring out how to set up and do the full image backup to the "SZ"(Weekly) , i decided also to do another "full image backup" to an "accessible" area on the same disk (2nd. 500GB internal hard drive) So that i can save or delete them at my discretion. After setting TI to do this weekly, i noticed that TI overwrites the original back up and replaces it with the new. Question: is there any way to save (automatically) "full images" without TI eliminating the original? I would like to have several stored (depending on my weekly download activities) Regards Plain Fred

Keep in mind that if your backups on all on the same disk as your system, you will lose all your backups if the disk fails.

Some of your backups should be to an external drive or other network location.

If you want multiple backups, why not use the "Backup Locations" function.

Download the text file. Change the type or number of backups but the procedure is there.

Note particulary the last paragraph under Ch 3.5 Setting rules for backup locations which reads:
"When creating a backup task, be sure to select the backup location from the Backup
Locations list, near the top of the directory tree. Doing so will enable the above processing
of backups. If you select a backup location as a normal folder, the processing will not be performed."

Just change the file name for the image. You may have as many full images as the room on your hard disk allows. Best to put these images on external drives.

You can do this automatically once you set up a Backup Location and a Backup Task -- refer to user guide for details or atl least persuse the guides listed in any message by gloverH.

Putting your backup images on the same drive as the one you are backing means you sol if you have a hdrive failure. Hdrives have never been cheaper. considering getting a second one to use for storing backups. And then you can get rid of that hidden partiton called the inSecure Zone. ;)

    Hello,
I would like to thank everyone who responded to my question. Thank you.
As far as backup to a "different location" i guess that i have not made my post clear. All my backups are to a 2nd hard drive (internal 500GB hitachi) that is only used for backups.(added it myself in spare cage slot) and let acronis do the "install". 200GB for the "SZ" and the rest for me. I will implement all your suggestions and post back with the outcome. Regards Plain Fred

    Hello,
Just wanted to "update " my progress with TI-11 backups. After creating a " Backup location", and scheduling for a "Full backup" (weekly) everything went as planed.TI automatically placed the new update and named it as well.(without overwriting the old). Although i have no idea (other than the date) what all the rest means. EX. 2008_08_22_20_50_06_545D.tib Thanks again Regards Plain Fred.
