    Very nice results by Avira.

Norton - many false positives, and a 68.2% detection rate of "other malware"...

Norton never does that well in on-demand tests since Sonar results wont show here.

Other than that, nice to see so many doing well. Especially im happy about Avira and F-Secure doing well :)

Trend Micro is rising - MUCH better result this time :thumb:

MY MY what happen to Symantech with 57 false positive.I believe they asked it to be tested on high heuristics and yet it missed samples that even avast didn't with only 10 FP.I however take this test with grain of salt.

Nice to see Avira and F-Secure doing well and trend stepping up.

Not a great performance for Symantec, with or without SONAR.

True, but it doesn't affect false positives either, so they would have to be "real" false positives by the autoprotect, as well, not just behaviour fp:s.

perhaps 2012 isn't yet fully developed:-may be doing "a kaspersky" with this version,is so will be working correctly in a few months!

Really impressed by avast! Free. Seems their marketing is founded on truth.

I'm somewhat surprised by the FP results. I've not seen Symantec produce so many before.
However, I did lol @ MSE's results. Especially considering the product relies so heavily on signatures and seeing it do so poorly.

Not surprised by Avira's excellent performance. Does Qihoo use the Avira engine? Their results are quite similar.

It's finally here. Yes, Qihoo uses Avira now.

Has those multi-engine ones ever been beat?

The August 2008 comparative had Avira beating G DATA (I think G DATA was using an older version relative to that time period of the Kaspersky engine during that time. I don't remember for sure though.)

Kinda surprised with Symantec. Avira seems to have kicked it up a notch since last time. Good job.

Not bad for trustport. 99.6% is pretty good. The 59 FP might be a problem though.

There is always good times and bad times and it seems like NIS is going through that phase. I am sure they will improve their scores in the next round of testing.

    Best Regards,

Yeah Panda Cloud had some good results and it is Cloud based :)
G-Data performed well, Norton as always average on On Demand tests but this time they took the prize for the worst performer :D
Are you sure they didn't use something like Norton Power Eraser? JKJK

Norton is a real surprise. It did so well in the Whole Product Tests, but fell down on this one. I wonder why the difference?

That's, because they have many other technologies than just a blacklist. None of those are in use for on-demand scans.
