Ok, so what is now the story?

I've stayed away from updating my NOD for the past several days since the major updates were released and the problems began for some of you. Is it safe to update now? Win98se. Thank you.

The only problems out there right now seem to be affecting Windows XP users everyone I know that has 98SE is not reporting any trouble with NOD.

 

Right now they're just issuing sig def updates.

You can require program component update approval if you wish by using the "offer" setting in the updater. You'll have to then click OK to accept the component updates or NO to not accept on the resulting popup alert. That way you won't have auto download and installation of the component updates. That's the way I have it set and have just been auto downloading the signature updates.

 

Hmmmm, if I'm not mistaken I THINK that the Exclusion bug has been fixed. Gee, if I get really brave I might even try enabling the IMON.

I have IMON enabled and everything is normal,no more slow downs at all here.

So far so good for me the updates seem to be working ok on my grumpy WinMe System.

The new build (2.000. introduced an "exclusions" option for IMON, and luckily for me this works as advertised since the only way I can get a connection on port 119 (NNTP) is to exclude my news apps from IMON. Excuse me for being "out of it" but what is this about program updates? I have 2.000.6 and have never been offered anything else. How come? My definitions are up to date (just got the latest a couple of minutes ago).

 

Thank you. Now I understand. I haven't been around here in about a week (very busy) so I missed most of this and was confused when I did read some threads last night. Lucky, I suppose, that I have not gotten around yet to putting NOD32 on my latest XP tower (first tower proved defective and had to be returned to Dell). (Ive just been using the trial of another AV that came with the computer). I have XPSP1a on Intel CPU so I would have had the problem. Currently, I just have NOD32 on my old W98SE box. Good timing as I was just thinking last night about putting NOD on the new box so I will wait a few days for the program fix.

 

IMON exclusion works fine... Solve troubles with:
