NTLDR error on handicapped machine.

Hi folks,
First...have to tell you I use both TI and DD: (Windows isn't usable without them in my opinion, or at least something like them.)

Here's my problem. I have a very unusual machine now. It can ONLY boot from the HD. It also insists that it do any formating to be done (I've tried to make a bootable dos partition on another machine and do the format /sys, but it has never been bootable when I install it). Naturally I have an image of the working OS (Windows 2000) which I paste in on each failure to get up and running again.
I'm TRYING to update the OS to Windows XP. Since there is no CD drive, I've taken the ISO from my XP install disk and mounted it in a virtual CD drive. The install is begun properly and when asked, I tell it to copy ALL install files to disk. However, the first time it needs to reboot during the install, I get the "NTLDR is missing" error. With the OS selector from DD10 installed, it catches the reboot and offers to monitor the correct partition. OSS then shows me the screen with the new "XP install" option highlighted in addition to the old OS. Booting into either gives me the "NTLDR is missing" error. Attempting either the upgrade or new install to another partition all give me the same error. The only thing I've been able to do is to use the Acronis SZ and paste back the old working copy.
Can anyone help?

- Run Acronis OS Selector.
- Go to Acronis OS Selector options by clicking Options in the Tools sidebar section or selecting a respective item on the Toolbar or main menu.
- In General Options please select "No, do not protect folders" option.
- Perform the needed operations to upgrade your Windows 2000 OS to Windows XP.

If the above doesn't help please do the following:

Could you please download Acronis Report utility available at http://www.acronis.com/files/support/AcronisReport.exe and run it, create a report and send it to us? This would provide us with detailed information on the hard disk partition structure.
