    Hello just found out about and installed MRU Blaster the install went fine and quickly located aprox 300 MRU I clicked Clean and it said all were removed/cleaned. I being a born again skeptic immediatly asked it to scan again and it found two more;

RealOne Player MRU - Last Logon Time
RealOne Player MRU - Last Open File Directory

I tried several more time to scan and each time it found the same cleaned rescaned and they still were found. In checking my msconfig and program manager I cant see where any part of RealOne Player is running.

What gives? Is this program exempt?

I just checked the code again, and MRU-Blaster is detecting and deleting those items correctly on 2 test systems.

It sounds like some part of RealPlayer IS running, although I find it odd that those items would be continuously rewritten to the registry - in my tests they seem to be written on open and perhaps even on close of RealPlayer.

What version of Windows are you running?

If you would like to exclude those items from scanning and cleaning, uncheck the "Various Extra Single MRU Items" option in Settings.

    Best regards,

Well, I just tested MRU-Blaster's cleaning of those items on a Win 98SE system, and they are being deleted correctly.

So it does sound like something is constantly writing them to the registry.

I posted the following in my message above after you responded, so I'll repost it here:
If you would like to exclude those items from scanning and cleaning, uncheck the "Various Extra Single MRU Items" option in Settings.

It shouldn't hurt anything to leave that option enabled, however. :)

    Best regards,

If you don't want to exclude it (and you want it to stay gone), you can always leave the MRU Blaster Scheduler running and set to run every five minutes.

I take it you have gone carefully through all of RP's settings and made sure you have the program thoroughly choked down?

    Some guidelines (in RP):

Tools/Preferences/General - Place a dot (click in) the radio button by "Clear the contents of the Now Playing list" and make sure that "Enable a history list in the file menu" is un-checked.

Tools/Preferences/Internet Settings - No checkmarks in anything (and Albania is a good country/region to be from!)

Tools/Preferences/Automatic Service - No checkmarks in anything, and do [n]not[/b] allow Automatic Updates (un-check it).

And, from the RP main screen, click "View'/"Message Center" and get in there and kill everything that you can related to messages of any type (make sure you click on everything clickable in that section and read everything carefully as you make your choices).

Doing the above may not suit your style/preferences as to how you want RP to run - just bear in mind that everything that you do let RP do for you "automatically" is probably going to generate MRU's (that MRUBlaster will attempt to keep up with) and can open some serious gaps in your privacy quotient (both online and to anyone who opens your RP).
