Very good review again, Mrk! I echo a lot of the same sentiments as you regarding the new Gnome. It's a horrendous change, imo, from what used to be.

the 1st thing which really sucks on gnome 3 is its big ugly buttons on right hope in further production they change it some decent

for now i am putting a tutorial for helping my self as well other when ever see them how to change them before they make your mind go

few steps form default to this

    https://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=232753&page=30

if you dont like mintz buttons

    sudo add-apt-repository ppa:webupd8team/themes
    sudo apt-get update
    sudo apt-get install zukitwo-theme-all

    to get icons left by

    gconftool-2 -s -t string /desktop/gnome/shell/windows/button_layout "close,maximize,minimize:"

or with menu button on right

    gconftool-2 -s -t string /desktop/gnome/shell/windows/button_layout "close,maximize,minimize:menu"

now open advance setting (Gnome 3 shell extensions) and go to theme and at bottom

theme window change it to zukitwo dark you get same like above like buttons

same as Mrkvonic and vasa tips above

Sorry I forgot to mention I did that. Grub finds /boot and fails to boot the LUKS Disk. It says it can't find '/dev/mapper/cryptsetup-root/' followed by a UUID and than drops to a recovery shell.

Let's talk Linux Mint some more, shall we. This is a second review of Linux Mint 12 Lisa with the Gnome 3 desktop, tested on high-end hardware, covering live CD usage, installation to an external USB disk in a multi-boot configuration, Nvidia and Broadcom proprietary drivers, web camera, system load and responsiveness, updates, some KDE stuff, experience, notifications, visual glitches, other problems, and more.

    Cheers,
    Mrk
