    Hello,
My daughter's new laptop came loaded with this application from Microsoft. It is strange because it doesn't seem to be compatible with Microsoft Office or even Word Pad.

When she send a document created with OneNote 2003, it cannot be open with
    Microsoft Word.o_O

    Anyone knows this program?

i would assume onenote documents would have a different extension than word if not, then it has special formatting that cannot be read by word. onenote is a different program, its not really a word processor like word but i cant describe it as ive never used it. from some screenshots i saw, it looks like u can use tablet pc to handwrite notes and also use a keyboard to type notes on the same document.

Thank you WSFuser for your answer. I also made a search on the Net and found out it is not made to be compatible with Word.

This is strange anyway, why Microsoft products are not even compatible between each othero_O

You may save pages or text from OneNote documents as *.doc or *.mht, both formats can be opened in Word.

both products are from microsoft but each program has a different purpose and thus a different file format so u cant open say a powerpoint file with word. office 2003 does have that new xml file but i dont know how it works.
