"With the acquisition of Binisoft, Malwarebytes will provide an all in one solution well beyond having to manage a Firewall through Group Policy Objects or other Microsoft technologies."

"Binisoft Windows Firewall Control will quickly integrate into the Malwarebytes platform,"

Article was made in May 24, 2018.
    Perhaps they change their minds

I would rather Malwarebytes do it right by integrating a firewall than slap it together and throw it out for beta or release and have many problems. The acquisition is dated May 24, 2018. Give a bit more time to put it together.

I agree, but You know, it is just a front end Gui for Windows Firewall.

One machine refused to update several times. Perhaps VoodooShield was interfering on that machine as the upgrade finally succeeded after exiting VS, although I never had that problem on this machine, also running VS.

I have MB (Premium x 2) set to not start with Windows, as I run it on-demand only.
However, on both computers Malwarebytes Service starts, and MB icon appears in taskbar (that certainly didn't happen before v3.7.1).
Have to right-click 'Quit Malwarebytes' to get rid of it ...
    Intentional, or bug?

You might have to configure it not to start with Windows again. I have all realtime protection turned off and sometimes afer upgrading to a new version some of the realtime modules get enabled.

I also have all realtime protection off - and the startup toggle is 'Off' ..

Setting it 'On', then 'Off' again has worked (there is no 'save' function). Thanks.

I've used MalwareBytesPro and now Premium for many years, as I have a lifetime license. The last major release caused me no end of grief, so my question today is this: Is it time to upgrade from 3.6.1 to 3.7.1, or would it be wise to wait for the next incremental release? Thanks for listening.

I've had no issues on my Win10 machines but it might pay you to check their forum for any potential issues if you haven't already.

No problem here either, but I only use it on demand.

    Hi Krusty,

Thanks, did just that. Bit the bullet and allowed the update. 3.7.1 is running fine on my Windows 7 Ultimate laptop.

Finally figured out how to reset the 'Real-Time Protection detections' back to "0" manually. Thanks exile360 for the location.

    If anyone is interested...

***DO SO AT YOUR OWN RISK***

    1) Quit Malwarebytes.
    2) Navigate to C:\ProgramData\Malwarebytes\MBAMService\config.
    3) Delete MwacControllerConfig.json and the MwacControllerConfig.json.bak.
    4) Restart PC.

These files will be recreated by MB on restart.

If you open these files first with Notepad before deleted them and scroll to the end of both files, you will see just what the current "totalblockcount" numbers are which will coincide with the Dashboard's numbers. After the deletion and recreation, both file numbers will be "0".

Tested on the MB's Web Protection site and counts went from 0 to 3. Repeated above and back to 0 again.

All other settings remain the same as I have it configured.

There is a way to do this with the "Scan Detections" too, but mine has always been at 0.

    Robert

After updating MBAM to 3.7.1, it again automatically enabled the Premium trial without asking. Even though after I manually deactivated the trial after the last program update, when this also happened.
