I've written a short review of Linux Mint 13 Maya 64-bit installed on a high-end machine with Nvidia graphics card, including serious problems with live session due to Nouveau driver, setup in a quadruple-boot configuration, import of a large gaming user profile, Nvidia drivers and tweaks, system usage, performance, responsiveness, games, and more. Have fun.

Thanks. Your article made me curious about the experience of uninstalling/installing games in Linux. How is it? I hate to install/uninstall games in Windows and I usually buy all my Windows PC games from Steam (they are automatically downloaded/installed/configured in the background by the Steam client). But these games installed by the Steam client don't play in gaming networks like Garena and GameRanger that some of my "poor" friends absolutely "require", so portable versions (not pirated, only modified to be portable - I buy the keys) come handy for playing with them in these gaming networks - luckily, I can find portable versions of almost all the games I play with these friends, some of them "official versions", some "extra-official versions" (made available by random people from the diverse giant community of Windows PC gamers).

If you install games to your home - and it's a separate partition, then it becomes as trivial as deleting some folders to uninstall. In between upgrades, you may see some libraries in the os changing, but overall, most games should work well. I have games from ubuntu 9.04 till now working just fine.
