Kaspersky "Remove banner from Desktop, unlock Windows"

It appears to me that this tool is to get unlock codes when Malware locks Windows. Is that the case? Has anyone ever used this tool to assist in Malware cleaning? Feedback?

    Thanks in Advance.

USA still the best. But barely.
I believe this is for Ransomware. Hope I never have to use it.

Nice :) But I guess you have to get some before hand cause IIRC once you get that window its hard to click anything else XD.

It is for random malware and for this to work you would need a second computer to use that tool since ransom malware doesnt really let you do anything.

I have been tempted to use it before but in the end I always ended up using a bootable rescue disc instead.

I have both a YUMI USB Flash Drive & a Xboot DVD ready in case I need it to assist someone. I have the following Antivirus Rescue CD's along with several Linux Distro's installed on both of them.

    1. Dr.Web LiveCD
    2. Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10
    3. Avira Rescue System CD
    4. Bitdefender Rescue CD

I just thought that it may be "interesting" to unlock a PC first and then scan/clean with a portable AV product such as:

    1. Dr.Web Cureit
    2. Emsisoft Emergency Kit
    3. Hitman Pro
    4. SuperAntiSpyware Portable

If I want to unlock the PC first, I would write down the required info from the Ransomware, then boot one of the Linux Distro's, go to Kaspersky's website and get the unlock code, reboot to Windows and use the unlock code.

The easiest and probably the best way would be to use one or more of the bootable Antivirus Rescue CD's.
