Is WinPatrol still a viable product?

I've sent a couple of emails to their support email link asking why there never seems to be any information through their PLUS feature anymore. I have received no answers. I've read on other forums that the program is junk. I've been using it for years but haven't been satisfied with it since Bill sold it. I'm wondering if I should just uninstall it.

There doesn't seem to be much going on. I'd use one of the more reputable ones. Looks like WinPatrol PLUS is something like NVTs OSArmor, is that right?

    The question is...
If you installed it years ago, is it still running and doing anything for you?

I have the PLUS version. I uninstalled it around the end of December last year. The same with the other stuff I bought from them, e.g. paid version of WinPrivacy which I uninstalled at the beginning of 2017. Support has disappeared. Updates non-existent. Gone to the dogs !!!

Hi so i de-install the Winpatrol Plus on my Desktop Win 7 Machine,so i read here so much comments and of the Facebook Site from Winpatrol. For me now is clear Winpatrol is going or is abandonware
for now.So far i remember since the day Ruiware has taken Winpatrol this was a big mistake and the End of this Masterpiece of sofware. No Updaes No Support, No answers of support emails nothing.

    https://www.facebook.com/groups/WinPatrol/

So i have a question.I Dont think Winpatrol is coming back or a Relaunch and whatever.I know such things happen to the Ftp Tool Flash Fxp too, since the Developer have i called Privat Problems i read
this in Support Forums from FlashFxp while i wondering there is no new Updates for the tool.So it seems FFxp are dead.Back to topic:Is there are a alternative to Winpatrol ?

WinPatrol was an essential part of PCs security back in 90' and 00' but unfortunately he didn't catch new security trends so he fell into oblivion. Still fond of memories for barking dog, though.

More money spent on Third Party Lifetime Licenses for PC Security that don't work. I'll put the licenses in my file with AdMuncher. :(

What is being recommended to replace WinPatrol? Seems I have had it forever but actually I can't remember ever being alerted by it. Regardless, will miss it should I remove it. Thanking you in advance for all replies.

Since no other software is recommended to replace WinPatrol perhaps it was never needed in the first place?

There were updates and progress in the Bill Pytlovany days, but when Ruiware took over the program, that was the beginning of the end... :(

Like many others here, I've had WinPatrol installed since forever. I aagree that it took a major hit when Bill left, but I find that it still warns me when a new program wants to start at startup (though not lately?) or when a program wants me to accept some change. So I'm not sure whether I'm ready to uninstall it.

The TLS certificate has been expired for 7 months now. Anyone with a recommendation to replace it?

WinPatrol Plus was a very good program, sort of a mini HIPS.
What many people never understood was that the paid version added real time protection/blocking for autoruns and Windows services, which made it a valuable companion for an AV.
CruelSister has a YouTube Video testing it, worth a watch (although you shouldn't be using it nowadays)

That is correct. WinPatrol website is using an invalid security cert.
The certificate expired on Wednesday, February 13, 2019 8:07 PM

Data Download WinPatrol is also using invalid security cert.
The certificate expired on Sunday, April 28, 2019 4:58 PM.

The latest version on their website is 35.5.2017.8 & was released on May 7 2017.

Autoruns by Sysinternals shows you what programs are configured to run during system bootup
or login, and when you start various built-in Windows applications. Has no real-time monitoring
    however, like WinPatrol.

Very sad indeed if winpatrol disappears off the landscape.I used it for quite a while when i ran windows 7.
What happened to bill the original developer.?

It is a behavour monitoring software so it may not need constant updates unless a windows update breaks it.
