    I have just bought True Image 9.0 and I am sure I read the product description saying it can create an image of a partition onto a network resource such as a network share. I have created a boot disk and used it in my laptop however the full boot will not work and all I get is a blank screen so I tried the safe mode and it seems I have no access to my network and there is no network options at all. Is network access only a feature of the full boot option of which does not work on my computer or is there no network support for True image 9.0 full or safe mode? Please tell me I have bought the correct version for creating network backups.

    Thanks in advance.

    Request from Aconis that they give you V8. It should do what you want. Ti9 is too buggy.

    Hello starscream,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

    Please be aware that the Safe version of Acronis True Image 9.0 Bootable Rescue CD does not have drivers for the network adapters. Thus you should use Full version in order to be able to access network.

    Please make sure that you use the latest build (2302) of Acronis True Image 9.0 which is available at: http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/support/updates/

    To get access to updates you should create an account at:
    http://www.acronis.com/homecomputing/my/
    then log in and use your serial number to register your software.

    Please create new Bootable Rescue CD after installing the update, boot your PC from this CD (Full version) and see if the problem still persists.

    If the problem still persists with the latest build (2302) of Acronis True Image 9.0 then please do the following:

    - Boot from the Acronis True Image 9.0 rescue disc and press F11 key when the selection screen appears;

    - After you get the "Linux Kernel Settings" prompt, please remove the "quiet" word, click on the OK button and wait for # prompt to appear;

    - Issue the following commands:

    asamba dhcp -n
    asamba masters

    - Write down the output after each of the commands or use a digital camera to make a shots of the output screens;

    cd tmp
    mkdir mntdir
    mount /devfs/floppy/0 mntdir
    cat /proc/net/dev > mntdir/net.txt
    sysinfo > mntdir/sysinfo.txt
    umount mntdir

    - Collect the net.txt and sysinfo.txt files from the diskette.

    Submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will investigate the problem and try to provide you with the solution.

    Thank you.
