I like many other users in this forum experienced problems when attempting to create/restore data backups using ATI 11 and would find that the software would regularly hang when used with a usb hard disk drive. I do not use the windows version instead opting to use the bootable rescue media for all my backup needs as I prefer using the software this way.

However the regular hangs when using the software meant that it was virtually unusable and so I decided to throw the disc in the litter after stomping on it. I found the software would even hang when using the erase feature to wipe a hard disk.

Anyway, after a few months without a backup solution I have decided to return to check out ATI 2009. No other software I've tried offers the features I have been looking for with mainly the ability to be able to boot into a safe environment in which to create and restore backups.

So I am curious as to those of you whom already have ATI 2009 and have used the bootable rescue media think. Have the hangs finally gone when creating/restoring backups to a usb device?

I would appreaciate your responses as I would like to return to using a backup solution.

No idea about the hangs but there seem to be other problems relating to devices no longer being recognized. So it appears to me that True Image is still True To The Way We Do Things. I find it ridiculous that a company like Acronis who gets a wealth of valuable feedback from this forum can't see that quality issues must be addressed and have released what appears to be another bug-ridden version.

I am VERY sorry to hear that this release is still bug ridden. I was just looking to see if anyone has found whether it fixes the "corrupt image" problem that I (and others) have posted so much about.

I don't have a release copy of 2009 as yet, I can say I found the rescue media as supplied in the beta version worked fine on an Lenovo x61 laptop.

I have the boot media installed on an external USB hard drive, the Laptop is able to boot from this and TI 2009 was able to see the drive, the internal S-ata drive and restore an image.
