    Hi and sorry if this has been mentioned elsewhere - I couldn't find the info I'm after. I am testing ATI v11 and want to backup to a NAS. The NAS has it's own user accounts that are necessary to access its shares. When I setup a manual task in ATI, eg, Full or Incremental, it prompts for a username/password to access the remote share with (Network Logon page) AND it prompts for a user to run the task if scheduled - this all makes sense. HOWEVER, if I want to use a Backup Location (eg, a mapping to the remote share) and do a Full backup followed by 3 Incrementals etc.... I am not prompted for the remote share's username/password so it doesn't work.

    Is there something I'm doing wrong? OR does ATI expect the credentials to already be in place when setting up the mapping in Windows (which it is)?

    Also, can anyone explain the flakiness of scheduled backups when the schedule is being run by a user with no password - I've had it suddenly stop on me a few times with an error (deleted!) that contained two or three possibilities and one was simply using credentials with no password ??

    Hello amclean,

    Thank you for choosing Acronis Disk Backup Software.

    We are sorry for delayed response.

    Please have a look at this Acronis KB article for explanations on backing up to network drive.

    Please be aware that the problem with scheduled tasks sometimes failing when there is no password set on Windows account is being investigated, but the exact cause is not yet clear. Could you please collect some information to help us investigate it?

    Please make sure you use the latest build (8101) of Acronis True Image 11 Home. To get access to updates you should first register your software.

    Please create Windows System Information as it is described in Acronis Help Post.

    Please collect the application log of the operation:
    - run the program;
    - select Show log on the toolbar or from the Tools menu;
    - select the corresponding log;
    - click "Save the log entry to file" (the diskette icon).

    Please also do the following:
    - Download schedmgr.exe application;
    - Open the command prompt (Start -> Run -> cmd);
    - Run the following command in the folder the schedmgr.exe file was saved to:

    schedmgr get report > schedreport.txt

    - Collect schedreport.txt;
    - Run Acronis Schedule Manager program (schedmgr.exe) once more;
    - Issue the following command:

    set logflags support

    - Schedule backup creation once again;
    - Wait until the scheduled backup will fail;
    - Collect the log file schedul2.log that is placed in the \Program Files\Common
    Files\Acronis\Schedule2 folder;

    It is recommended to turn off logging after troubleshooting by using the following command (from the schedmgr.exe command prompt):

    set logflags 0
    set lf_registry on

    Then submit a request for technical support. Attach all the collected files and information to your request along with the step-by-step description of the actions taken before the problem appears and the link to this thread. We will do our best to investigate the problem and provide you with a solution.

    Meanwhile, a possible workaround is to create a separate account with Administrator or Backup Operator rights with a password, and use it's credentials to schedule Acronis True Image tasks.

    Thank you.
