How much stupider I can feel???

Ok I am looking to ask a question on SpyWare Blaster... Their help file has this listed... But I do not see the product name here...

I am totally angry.. Not with you.. But real frustrated...

Anyway.. The question I have here is that I still am getting Save.Exe coming through. I have run your software and it is checked..

Any ideas?

Hi Erroll,

I moved this question to the right forum so Javacool will see it.

I use SpywareBlaster in combination with SpywareGuard and when something gets through (can happen when you´re looking for it ) I submit them as new targets.
I don´t think there is much that can be done about the warnings you´re getting, but I must say I don´t care very much for sites that push their ActiveX, unless it is for a good reason and I put those in my Trusted zone.

One lyrics site I visit a lot is a real mess... Everytime I get clocksync and I think Save.exe is buried in it...

Please ignor this post if I have mis-understood what is being referred to as "clocksync".......if in fact its the computer clock that is referred to.....disable it. It will still work.....may lose/gain a few minitues over longterm......have had it disabled on my computers for years without any issue...

No need to excuse. Thanks for thinking along. This is the clocksync I presume RustyDreams is referring to:

"SaveNow often also installs 'WeatherCast', a system tray icon that displays the current weather conditions, and/or 'ClockSync', a trivial NTP client. Unless you find these useful for some reason, you should probably also remove them from Add/Remove Programs. "

No stupidity seen anywhere in forums as long as they are valid posts........there is only admiting that we are ignorant (which is lacking in knowledge on an issue which is not a bad reflection on anyone) that any of us open our minds to learn...........or something like that............welcome aboard.

 

Frequent references to doxdesk.com, a favorite site of mine, reminds me of something that doc said that might help. Internet explorer is prone to all forms of parasites and suchlike. If you use a different browser (take your pick, I'm currently using an overlay I got from SmartTech), you may find you have a little more control in this area. Please, see if it helps (you can always go back to IE6) and pass it on if it works for you.
