how do I make threatfire4 run lighter?

I would like to know to configure threatfire in a way which it uses less resources.I disabled the community and I am updating manually.I see that threatfire service uses 2-6% CPU (spikes). Is this normal?
I also use antivir and I omitted the 2 threatfire processes from the antivir guard.Is there a way to omit antivir processes to be scanned by threatfire?

 

I been long removed from Threatfire but now that they finally are back on track after all this time i too would like to know where we can post our gripes, concerns, and interests to their forums if they have one.

Now it's "ALMOST" there, it would serve them and us very good to have our concerns addressed.

My MAMUTU is a prime example of a well refined coding effort and TF 4 is right there on it's heels IMO, but it has a few quirks that definitely need attention ASAP.

Thats how i feel about Threatfire.
From day one of Cyberhawk, it was so very obvious that Behavioral Blocking software would have a solid place in any system's security configuration as a beneficial compliment to their defenses.

The striking similarity of it all is that just like one antispyware product rightly identifies certain known threats, then another will find something which that one missed. We can look at Behavioral Blockers like Threatfire as that "extra" pair of eyes that guards your HIPS and vice-versa.

 

I have stated before, that both TF and CH do a routine check of files and reg keys every 1 minutes, and a more indepth check every 5 minutes. Used Filemon and Regmon for that. The newer versions of CH and of course all TF use a virii type database so the checking of files also includes those.

You can supposedly delete the virii files and as long as the updates are turned off they will not return. Saw that over at the PCT forums. I have not really investigated any performance benefeit yet, but have tested to see if it works. Seems to. I doubt it would ever happen but a better method of tweaking would be to allow the user (maybe pro version?) to actually modify the internal checks that TF performs.
