How do I know if my notebook has SATA2 or SATA3?

When I bought my Kingston KC100 120GB SSD drive, the guy in the shop told me this is a SATA3 SSD but it is backwards compatible with SATA2 so it'll work on my laptop 100%

With that said, I went home, installed it, and it worked.

But just out of curiosity, how would I know if my notebook has SATA2 or SATA3 to know what speed my SSD is operating at?

CPU is an i7 2nd Gen (Sandy Bridge)

 

I ran a program called Speccy and found some interesting info but Im confused now....

It says Transfer Mode is SATA-III and SATA Type is SATA-II

does this mean that my notebook only supports SATA-II > but then how come the Transfermode is SATA-III?

ASUS G73Sw has a Intel HM65 Express chipset which supports SATA3/6Gb/s.
To make sure you can run SSD benchmarks (ATTO Disk Benchmark etc.), if Sequential Read/Writes are below 300MB/s it's SATA2, if it's above 400MB/s it's SATA3.

 

Here are my results, I am guessing it IS running @ SATA 3 afterall heh?
