   I'm going to connect it to the router via an ethernet cable and see if that fixes it by doing Windows updates. If not what else can be done?

   Run Dell Command Update or Dell SupportAssist, at least one of those should have been preinstalled, and see if there is a driver update for the Wi-Fi.
