They would if they could. If there's even a chance Google can get more information about you then they will.
Seriously, both Gmail and Yahoo Mail have got one of the worst interfaces ever seen, especially the feature that let's you quickly reply or something, it's a huge mess.

10001+ % and more. For the life of me makes zero sense. But as a free service we're stuck with it. On some of my boxes the old IE settings is so much more friendlier.
