Full System Lockup When Copying From An FTP Share

Hi All,
I am trying to get to the bottom of a problem a number of my users are having with our new ESET install. These users are all on Macs, and connect to FTP shares using the Finder. If they try to copy a file down locally, the entire system will lockup and become totally unresponsive. This does not happen when using an FTP program like Cyberduck, only when mounting the share in the finder.

The first step I thought I would take would be to exclude /Volumes/* from the protection list, but that has no effect. When the problem is occurring, the system.log is littered with these messages:

Those messages just repeat over and over again. This issue is 100% reproducible, leading me to believe it has almost certainly been encountered and resolved before me. I would appreciate any suggestions anyone has regarding this.

Which versions of OS X and ESET NOD32 Antivirus for Mac OS X BE are running on the Macs in question?

Sorry, I should have included that originally. This is happening on OS X 10.6.8 and OS X 10.7.3, both running NOD32 AV 4.0.77.

In case it matters, the FTP share that we are connecting to is an NFS drive.
