Flash Drive Mounts Using TrueCrypt But Can't Access Files

OK, this is great news! That's all fairly normal filesystem stuff you're describing. The header worked right off the bat, and the data is decrypting, so we've definitely found the beginning of your lost volume. Actually, you found it yourself, and then I showed you how to test it to make sure it's correct.

There are choices ahead: I normally just use WinHex to block/save the entire lost volume as a single large file, using almost exactly the same procedure that you used to create the test files. The resulting file should be mountable by TrueCrypt and it should contain your entire lost volume. (It might even be undamaged, but we'll see. I can't promise that.)

I would start the block at exactly the same location that was used for the successful test file, and in your case I would end it at the end of the disk. However, the evaluation copy of WinHex will not allow you to create a file that large. If for some reason you can't afford to buy a WinHex personal license then you might be able to accomplish the same task using a freeware hex editor such as HxD.

A third approach, which might work but which I can't walk you through safely, would be to recreate the partition table such that the first partition's starting offset matches the starting offset of the successful test file, and fills the rest of the disk. There are programs that can do this, but the procedure can be risky. You'd need to make a full sector-by-sector backup first. (And as I see it, if you have enough free space available to make a full backup of the disk then you might as well just copy the data into a file instead.)
