I restored an image from an old laptop to a new laptop using bare metal restore. The restore went fine.
The problem was was windows 10 showed battery not present with zero charge. The battery showed in bios with a 99% charge.

I tried removing the battery and reinstalling it along with holding the power down. I tried updating the battery driver with device manager but it said the latest driver was installed. I tried uninstalling the battery from device manager but device manager froze.

I was going to return it to Amazon but thought I'd try a computer repair shop first. They updated the bios and saw the battery driver was from 2006.. The laptop was Asus but they found a driver for Surface Pro that worked. Windows now shows the battery with a full charge.

A Shadowprotect bare metal restore is supposed to supply all drivers but their battery driver was incorrect. Bottom line for next time would be to copy drivers from the windows install that comes with the laptop. It didn't come with a drivers disk just a reinstallation file on another partition which would not have done me any good.
