Installed Ewido for on-demand scanning only. So i turned off the Guard within Ewido. The Guard still appears on reboot, but with an X through it. I presumed this indicates it's disabled. But i don't want the icon there in the first place. So i went into services and disabled the guard. But then on reboot there is a message from one of my other apps telling me that there is a new startup - guess? Ewido guard. No matter how i disable it, it still loads up at startup with it's icon sat there in my systray. I DO NOT WANT IT TO START UP - PERIOD! It's like having a piece of malware on my pc that i'm unable to remove. So i did the only thing i could to get rid of this from my startup. I uninstalled it.

Is there no other way to stop the guard from starting up?

    Hi,

I don't know what you're doing but there is an option in the status screen 'Remove guard' this removes the guard completely. But you should know that you disable automatic updates with this, too since this is done by the guard.

Maybe you use some registry monitor (or aplication that has built-in that feature) that load old start-up configuration if change is detected.
