Please do not link to msi installers as they are not used since v9 and using them might result in activation or other issues. We recommend using Live installer which always downloads the most current version suitable for the given operating system automatically.

To download an offline installer, select it on the download page as shown in the attached screen shot.

    Marcos,

If I disable HTTPS/SSL Scanning, does it affects Banking Protection/Browser?

By default, the banking protection will not scan most bank web sites that use EV certificates. So by browsing to your bank's web site, you should see the "green" border for the site's url in your browser.

Disabling SSL protocol scanning entirely should make no difference to the rest of the banking protection. The banking protection locks down the browser and scrambles your keystrokes.

Can someone using ver. 9 that has created multiple HIPS rules post a screen shot for the equivalent ver. 8 screen shot shown below. I want to verify that Eset corrected the sorting order problem that existed in the initial ver. 9 release.

In ver. 8, user HIPS rules are sorted alphabetically and executed top to bottom. So all allow rules execute before all block rules.

When I originally upgraded to ver.9, all my HIPS rules ended up a jumbled mess with allow and block rules interspersed with each other. Worse when a new rule was created, it was always added at the bottom of existing rules. Also, I could not find any option to allow HIPS rules to be reordered in any fashion.

Bottom line, all my ver. 8 HIPS rules didn't function properly in ver.9. Eset did make a change to ver. 9 in a later update to supposedly correct this issue. This is what I am trying to verify before I try to upgrade to ver. 9 again.

It appears to have far less problems than that employed in SS 9.

That said, note it will not auto detect bank sites w/EV certs. as done in version 9. You will have to set manual exclusions for any such web sites if so desired. And the process is burdensome to say the least.

Whether any security solution should scan SLL web traffic and if they do it properly is another issue. You can explore that topic in other like Wilder's threads. I personally have SSL protocol scanning turned off.

I somehow slid into using MSE for a bit, but I'm sick of it requiring 50 horsepower from my laptop, so I may return to NOD32 AV. Can anyone here comment on the resource use of the current version of NOD32?
    Thank you.

To be honest, it's best if you try it yourself, as one antivirus may work very well on one computer but cause slowdowns on another.

    I agree with roger_m.
On my computer ESET was much lighter than MSE. But that was few years ago and meantime things might have changed.

I mean can add bank sites & works fine.

But some bank sites doesn't open in Eset browser i.e some bank sites on clicking login open a second window...I add the url of the second window but doesn't open in Eset browser.
How to add bank sites that open a second window on clicking login...so that it opens in Eset browser?

First, Eset does not use a proprietary browser. In ver. 9, it just opens your existing browser in a "hardened mode."

There have been a number of issues with ver. 9 browser banking mode protection. For example, some bank sites are not included bank whitelist. Best to post you problem on the Eset forum web site. The solution might be as simple as Eset adding your specific banks to the whitelist.

This among other issues is why I am still using ver. 8 which BTW does not have bank mode browser protection.

Yes, ESET can add sites to the list when needed. @Marcos
