That is because you have a single core processor.

I tested the scan speed (old & new version) on my Intel Core 2 Duo Windows XP Pro PC (Hardware Date: ~3rd Quarter of 2006). I saw about a 2X scan speed increase with the new Dr.Web CureIt.

If the test the full version of DrWeb, the scanner will show multiple (more than two-fold) increase in the scanning speed.

I had always heard that they are one of the more expensive vendors out there. I don't know if it's true or not.

It's cheap to buy a license for one PC but starts to get expensive if you need more.

The new scan engine is definitely faster in both Dr.Web CureIt and the Dr.Web Live CD. I just ran a scan speed test with the latest Dr.Web Live CD. The scan speed improvement over the Dr.Web Live CD with the older scan engine is about 2X. See the following link:

Increase the scanning speed will increase even more on the PC where you installed DrWeb and a multi-core processors.

Is there any particular reason why AV-Comparatives does not review Dr.Web products? Seems a bit odd as they are better than a lot of the products that they do put through the ringer.

a couple of years back i got the feeling that DrWeb lost the momentum and drifted away from being a major competitor. several FPs, slow and bad bad marketing.

this version seems promising. any "housemade" tests ?

Dr. Web is doing very well in the enterprise market in Russia. They are not hurting for money. They are not focusing as much effort in gaining more market share outside of Russia. Especially in the consumer market.

-Dr.Web emphasizes more on the Enterprise market than the Consumer one.
-Dr.Web emphasizes on their Domestic market (Russia) rather than the International markets.

If Dr.Web is satisfied with these decisions, then,...

Wilders members would like to see again Dr.Web in major AV Tests, but...

:thumb: And has been for a long time now.

The dropping of the "switch/change to the green" migration license for Home users put off a lot of potential users and the retail price is IMHO, high when compared to other similar products.

Highly unlikely in the near future, IMHO.
