does bios time get updated accordingly with os time update?

hi, when you synchronize system time with "time.windows.com" server, does this also change bios time?

I always thought that it was the OS clock that synced itself with the BIOS clock and not the other way around.

very cool program

i used eToolz to sync and other nice feature


but can somebody tell me why xp is so slow to sync time?
if i double click on the clock , and in the tab sync i click refresh or update system time windows xp keeps few seconds (6 or 7 seconds i guess)

with eToolz is instantaneous

 

I use SPTimeSync (freeware, from snapfiles.com) for periodic adjustment, since my system seems to gain about a minute a month. One nice feature is that when you "get time from server", it displays your system time, the server's time, and the difference between the two. Also the transmission time back and forth (essentially a ping), in case that's significant. You can then choose whether or not to adjust your system time to match, depending on how big the difference is and how critical absolute accuracy is to you.

(Edit) It's quite quick, on my antique system, for both steps, close enough to instantaneous.
