I used to use Spyware Blaster, and Spybot Search & Destroy for "immunization". They became less useful to me later on due to some FF add-ons and ABP sub lists. Now I use neither.

But if somebody could convince me that Spyware Blaster is still useful to me, I'd love to listen, because I kinda miss it actually :'(

    Hi lucid,

I don't know about FF add-ons and ABP sub lists, but SpywareBlaster doesn't use any resources, and if you really want one more season in the sun ;) you should put it back on. It's a layer that you don't even know is there. I like it for the rare times I use IE. :)

For Firefox, it only provides cookie blacklisting. I don't miss it at all, Spybot Immunize is better.

We have joy, we have fun...

I could get in trouble if I start using that rationale for everything though. I really was living just fine without an AV, but then thought to myself that it was pretty bad timing on my part to decide now to change my philosophy, and waste what is the best AV I've ever used. So I'm going to use this until it expires.

But SpywareBlaster & Spybot S&D served me well for several years. They'll go down as some of my favorite security apps ever, along with WinPatrol, but that just aren't useful to me anymore.
