Have you set up a password yet? If not hold down the shift key and double click the icon in the tray and it should ask you to set up a password.

I've run into that exact same problem before after installing DF, don't recall what version but it wasn't working as expected so i reverted back to a earlier one that did work as expected.

I would try divedog's suggestion, maybe even reboot and try it again, i recall having to reboot a second time once before it finally let me enter the password. Call it a fickle behavior of Windows or Faronic's particular version but things don't always go off the first time as well as they claim sometimes.
