CrowdStrike has agreed to acquire Preempt Security, a provider of zero-trust and conditional access technology for threat prevention, for $96 million, the two companies announced today.

The endpoint security company plans to integrate Preempt Security's technology into Falcon, CrowdStrike's cloud-native endpoint protection platform. Falcon already includes threat detection, vulnerability assessment, and incident response, among other capabilities.

"The technology detects identity-based attacks and unauthorized access attempts, allowing customers to block, notify, force re-authentication, or challenge the user with multi-factor authentication," says CrowdStrike CEO George Kurtz of Preempt's tech in a blog post on the acquisition.
