    Hi,

sorry, i´m not really sure if it is actually the firewall causing this problems. On a machine some applications seem not to function, probably due to restricted rights in some directories. I couldn´t find out which ones, though. Also, trying to execute some DOS commands will fail. The window will close immediately without no action. For example, the command Subst x: f:\files won´t do anything when called from the file manager, while in external DOS it is working. Also CCleaner would fail & some tool for using encrypted runas commands.

I looked everywhere in the Comodo prefs, but since the interface is a bit confusing & very crowded, i couldn´t find the possible reason. How can the settings completely be reset in order to retest all functions? I assume that one wrong click can cause effects like this, blocking some important dll or restricting some child function to some program.

You're best bet would be to completely uninstall CFP.

I recommend, After you uninstall it you use Comodo Registry Cleaner and you're CCleaner after you uninstall it (In Comodo Reg Cleaner, Leave "Unsafe Entries" unchecked, In other words leave it as default.) Clean the temp files in CCleaner & use the Reg Cleaner in CRC, Reboot then install a fresh copy. In Comodo Registry Cleaner it will also ask you if you would like to create a system restore point before cleaning (after scanning), CRC will then automatically create a system restore point, and it also creates a backup incase anything goes wrong. In future reference you can also view: Firewall\Advanced\Network Security Policy & Defense+\Advanced\Computer Security Policy to make sure nothing is blocked, and you can configure there too.

Make sure you also don't have any conflicting security programs.

ah, thanks, we will try that. The only additional security program is AVG Free, so that shouldn´t be a problem.
