I don't think it will bother me. I have always just used conky or screenlets with weather info from accuweather and weather.com. Is this only for the UK ?
Move on towards other similar services (it's not a monopoly). They're only kicking themselves by forcing everything to install something just for weather, which many people and businesses don't bother with.
