Chrome Web Filtering Extensions 2020

    I am sharing some extensions that I've found that blocks malicious websites and phishing sites.

    Avira Browser Safety <<<Excellent Detection
    Malwarebytes Browser Guard <<<Excellent Detection
    TrafficLight <<<Excellent Detection
    Total Defense Traffic Light <<<Identical to Bitdefender TrafficLight, Excellent Detection
    ----------------------------------------------------------
    The one's below I have tested but results may vary...

    These 2 below are identical and haven't been updated in awhile
    Emsisoft Browser Security <<<Updated March 8, 2019
    Ashampoo Browser Security <<<Updated July 28, 2019

    These are identical since Avast purchased AVG
    Avast Online Security
    AVG Online Security

    Netcraft Extension
    Reason Web Security
    ZoneAlarm Web Secure Free
    Sophos Chrome Security
    Microsoft Defender Browser Protection
    WOT Web of Trust

    I've always thought they are totally useless.

    they are totally overrated. and they are not independent. ublock (origin) is the superior solution which is free, independent and high customizable.

    and in special any extension from any antivirus vendor is very questionable because you feed them with a unique ID so they can track your behavior although it is (or should) anoymous. same for microsoft.

    my special dislike goes to malwarebytes because they bought http://www.hosts-file.net/ and made the lists non-readable and are no longer public.
