I saw my problem mentioned in an earlier post, but I could not find a solution. When I first install spyware guard, everything works fine, but after I reboot my computer, I can't open it.

The 'SG' icon in my task bar shows up when I install it, but after the reboot it never shown up again. The program is running though, because when I look under processes in my task manager the two processes mentioned in another thread are there.

Can anyone help me with this? I have reinstalled several times and it never works past the first reboot.

Also, when I uninstall before I reinstall, I can't delete two .dll files ... is this related and can anyone help with this?

BTW - I am running Windows XP Home Edition.

    thanks

Seems I have the same problem.
I downloaded spyware guard and it has the icons on my desktop.
When I click the icon nothing happens at least from a visual aspect.
When I try to uninstall SG it says it is still running and I should close the red SG in my system tray.
The only problem is there is no red SG and therefore I can not exit it, and as a result I can install the progrom.
It is starting to upset me somewhat.
If the makers of this program wishes me to recomend this program they must make it easier to use and if need be uninstall and reinstall.
Or could it be that the SG people are in reality spyware installers?
    Just wondering

...... are you aware of the fact that your posted this in the developers forum?
FYI: Javacools programs are very well respected and used by the people that help others get rid off spyware.

I'm sure that he will have a look at this and try to help you out, despite the marvellous jump to conclusions.

I'm still trying to reproduce this bug (happened upon it once but couldn't duplicate it). For some reason, Windows doesn't want to display the SG icon in the system tray.

To make it appear temporarily (until the next reboot) you should be able to go into Task Manager and terminate the "sgmain" and "sgbhp" processes. Then try running SpywareGuard from the shortcut again and see if the red SG reappears in the system tray. If you could let me know if this works, I would appreciate it. Thanks!

    Best regards,
