Is FortiClient cloud-based or will it provide protection when offline or both?

you can look also from other test such above (look for fortinet forticlient result)
pcmag is not my choice to look for antivirus test but YMMV ;)

another agreement with GrafZeppelin, you should try yourself what's best.
test result is a good reference but not our supreme commander :D

its not cloud based product, please do some reading at -www.forticlient.com-
    and -http://docs.fortinet.com/fclient/forticlient-admin-505.pdf-

Thanks! Before you gave me those links, I already did check them out, and I am quite impressed! I also do trust AV-Comparatives very much. My favorite is EAM. (Emsisoft)

    Questions:

    1. I have k9 Web Protection Filter control.(http://www1.k9webprotection.com/) It was truly working before I installed Fortinet, blocking effectively different websites according to categories.

However, after installing Forticlient with ParentalControl enabled, my browsers began allowing porno sites. Based from observing the task Manager processes, I could assume that both K9 and Fortinet use proxy to filter websites. I disabled Fortinet's parental control but still k9 cannot anymore filter porn. is it because their proxies are conflicting?

Maybe I have to uninstall k9.

    2. Fortinet has sooo maaannnyy processes. They are altogether light on the system but still too many. Around 11 processes all in all while doing a full scan.

    3. It takes some time to load PDF files unlike before that I load them fast using SumatraPDF.

    Thanks.
