It's true that we don't have much privacy these days.

The Web is currently funded through advertising, and advertisers want to know us very well to better target their ads. Business have always wanted to know their customers. All that's changed has been technology.

Governments have always wanted to know their citizens well, to make sure that they're paying taxes, to identify hooligans, and so on. And governments have always wanted to know what other governments are up to. Again, all that's changed has been technology.

Even so, we can also regain our privacy through technology. Having won the strong-encryption battle in the late 90s, we can obscure our network access using VPNs and Tor, and we can secure content, both on disk and in transit.

It may not yet be as user-friendly as we'd like, but it's doable.

Yeah, true! :) I guess it's "battle" for us to get our privacy and hide from "them", whilst they keep trying to "battle" and take that other level of privacy away from us. It's never ending sigh. :(

IMHO, there really isn't need to hide and be private to get a VPN though. Cause the movement of funds and etc is probably tracked anyway. What I could do, if the vpn provider takes google wallet... Is use EntroPay virtual visa / prepaid virtual visa cards. Add debit card to entropay account, transfer needed funds to it instantly.. Then use the virtual visa to get VPN service.. Maybe even do that behind a free vpn/tor service.. And your name wouldn't be attached to virtual visa cards either. Downside though, PayPal don't accept virtual visas, however google wallet does. When I ran foot fetish forum before, I accepted Amazon Gift Cards for payments for memberships. If the vpn provider accepts Amazon Gift Cards and just send the amazon gift card to them in whatever amount to their preferred email address attached to amazon account.. might work too. I dunno. Can even buy amazon gift cards with virtual visa lol

PS: Sorry moderators for that little sneaky swear word I slapped in last post, I should have edited it myself :(

You have as much privacy as you're willing and able to take.

The hardest part, and the part that's most likely to hose you, is transferring money and stuff across levels.

It's all fun and games until somebody loses an "I" ;)

lmao.. perhaps.. i'm just thinking of this too. moving funds from debit card account to bank = movement of funds too. "oh, spencerp just transferred 100.00 from debit to bank, ironically this is same amount for Xvpn service provider annually.. and oh look, week later his ISP reports him using the Xvpn service itself.. Ding Ding Ding! Spencerp, shame on you! We know which vpn service you're using anyway.. Lol" ..

Hahaha. xD so either way, someone has the intel on what you're doing, what you're using, etc etc. Lol! Just takes longer to use vpn services though, withdrawing funds from bank, mailing it out regular mail till vpn provider gets it and sets you up with it to use it sigh.. but end result is they still know you're using vpn anyway haha.

EDIT: Also, shoot... If doing it the way of google wallet, you'd have to sign in to google itself to do transaction also.. We all know google is cia/nsa spy tool itself as well. So would need a way to do transactions "privately" as "guest" or w/e. Dang, can't get around this at all! So back to just not worrying about hiding from paying for the vpn service lol
