hi zfactor, The Avira AV is registered within Windos Security Center each time during the installation. Sounds like the WMI repository was inconsistent, a quick workaround will be to deactive Avira registry protection and change "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Avira\AntiVirDesktop\WSC_Registered" from "1" to "0". Activate our registry protetion again and after a few seconds the WSC will detect the AV correctly.

that did work but after a few hours it now says there is no av installed again? this was a totally clean win 7 x64 install with only ms office 2013 added and the normal drivers. never had a issue prior to the last update that required a reboot.

i will restore the image once again to the clean state and try again maybe something along the way got messed up but again had not had a issue until the last update / reboot.

From Avira UI, deactivate the Firewall Protection. Wait a minute and activate it once again.

And yet they try to make the Answers to be like a forum. Seriously, what's wrong with the old support forum?

EDIT: Well at least I hope they keep an archive of the old support forum since the information in there might still be relevant for future troubleshooting.

Good Evening! Avira Answers...is a Pseudo Forum...feedback is packaged into issues...there is no meaningful communication between forum participants and Avira. I can't participate in something that is one way...no organic discourse or thought allowed. Just took a look at the Answers Forum...when I submitted a suggestion I was given the Generic title of Community Member...the latest entries actually have individuals names. But very little is conveyed to us at Wilders regarding suggestions we enacted at the Forum. So it is what it Isn't. Smoke and Mirrors! Sincerely...Securon

    Hello,

All feedback over the feedback form on Answers or avira.ideascale.com has been considered by the Product Manager of Answers.
@Securon: Where did you gave your feedback?

Answers is an Self-developed and secure platform from us and it is possible to use the API to connect it with our products like we already do with Mobile Security for iOS. This would not be possible with another platform.

There is a direct communication possible between moderators and direct message to users.

    Hi zfactor.

In case you experience any issue with the beta version of Avira I would appreciate it if you use the feedback form inside the Avira BetaCenter to report those.

    Thanks a lot!

    Kind regards,
    Toni

    Hi anon,
This is correct. We use the available descriptions within the product and our central knowledgebase instead.

I received a different information. We will see where the informations will be available... as separate PDF file or within the knowledgebase.

Sucks in my opinion. Install link in this thread for the free version doesn't install correctly, service runs, but AV is dead... had to manually uninstall and it was a frig***ing mess.

Good Afternoon! Hammer...Since I'm known Generically as a Community Member...I'm not optimistic in regards to receiving an e-mail. And I'm not as you know not terribly impressed in regards to the Forum's existing set-up. Sincerely...Securon
