AV Repair function

    how good is the repair function in the free AVs? o_O
    thnx in advance :)

    i think avast.
    avira cant clean any virus :p

    Avira in all tests thrown comes top at detecting and cleaning viruses, its top notch in every sense. Avira can repair files as well. Avast is good too and on a clean system, it depends on the VRDB to fix the files.

    One thing is term "cleaning" where it means deleting files and another where it means actually repairing infected executables. To be honest not many AVs actually do that, so far BitDefender, Kaspersky, McAfee, Symantec and DrWeb do that the best (from what i've seen with infectables). Others mostly rely on detection and are not able to actually clean (desinfect) the files.
    Some file infectors cannot be desinfected anyway because they are either too complex or they simply corrupt executable beyond repairable state.
