How is my claim about security professional vis-a-vis IE ... FUD? You can say it's overzealous or incorrect, although it matches the mood of the article, but I don't see how it can be FUD?

As to professionalism, since IE is one of the least-compliant W3C browsers, then it sounds logical (to me) that people who consider themselves professional would not opt for such a browser as their primary choice.

While there are sec pros who use IE, these are probably also the people running them under sandboxed or virtualized environments. Sec pros don't run browsers on bare metal while also trusting the integrity of the filesystem. A sec pro knows they can be sent a link or file that will "own" them if they click on it, without them evening being alterted to the fact.

However, he has a point. We find more security bugs in IE than we do in Firefox, but it doesn't mean we don't find them in both all the same.

 

I have an issue with the cable leash. Why is it attached to a small plastic hole on one end of the laptop? The lock barely is holding on to just a small corner of the laptop. What kind of security is that? I could get a screwdriver and easily pry off the lock's hold in that small hole. Why doesn't the lock area extend down the entire side of the laptop? Holding on to a small notch in one corner is not secure. Who came up with this laptop security idea in the first place?
