The ASA is right though, if you don't want Prime you shouldn't have to jump through hoops to avoid signing up when you just want to complete a purchase.

Great article, TY for posting the link. I am, as the article mentions, trying to "train" various delivery drivers where to leave packages, not always with the best of luck.

As I see this discussion again and see 1 day delivery I have to think about the fact that at this point in time about half of my orders don't even make the 2 business days they should be delivered by. There are things taking 3 days to a week to get to me. And yes, they do say Prime when I place the order. Yet the price keeps going up.

Hi Jackxx, well I must say I don’t understand people today anyway... They want something and they need it “now”, instantly. Can’t even wait one day! Oh my God, I must be getting old...:)

I personally don't really care about getting it that fast. The complaint on my part is that they are now charging $119 per year for this service and failing to deliver what they are charging for.

Indeed. When they say "Guaranteed" delivery, the question becomes, or what? I.e. what happens when they fail in their guarantee? It is not merely enough to answer the question with, "or you can return it and we will give you your money back". That's stupid. If they are going to quarantee something, and charge money for that guarantee, then there should be monetary reimbursement to the customer for failing to uphold the guarantee. Otherwise, the guarantee is thinner than air and meaningless to boot. Customers make buying decisions predicated on what these bozos bezos promise, and failure to provide what was promised could be called bait and switch. All that said, as an Amazon customer for over 20 years, I would say that they perform satisfactorily around 90-95% of the time. I will say that they are very good about resolving issues such as wrong item or defective product complaints. We live in an imperfect world, and Amazon is an easy target for anyone looking to substantiate that claim. :)
